Zechariah 6:12–13
In Zechariah 6, the prophet gives us a vision of the coming Messiah—a glimpse of Jesus before He walked the earth. He is called “the Branch,” and it is said of Him: “He shall build the temple of the Lord. He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His throne. So He shall be a priest on His throne…” (Zechariah 6:12–13)
That stopped me.
In the Old Testament, the roles of priest and king were never combined. A king ruled the people, while a priest stood before God on behalf of the people. But in Jesus, these two sacred offices come together perfectly. He is our High Priest and our King. And because we belong to Him, we are part of something greater than we often realize. We are part of His royal priesthood. We represent the Crown.
What It Means to Be His Temple When Zechariah prophesied that the Branch would build the temple of the Lord, he pointed toward something deeper than brick and stone. The New Testament tells us that God no longer dwells in buildings made by human hands. He dwells in us. We are His temple. We are living stones. And the temple grows every time someone is saved and a heart is made new.
You are not just forgiven. You are part of a holy structure God is building across the earth. You are a vessel of His Spirit, a display of His presence, and a dwelling place of His glory.

What It Means to Be Royalty If Jesus is King, then we are His daughters—adopted into the royal family of God. That isn’t poetic language. It’s spiritual truth. You’ve been given a new name, a new identity, and a new inheritance. You are no longer a servant to sin—you are royalty. And just like any royal family on earth, you’ve been set apart for a purpose.
But royalty doesn’t mean comfort. It means calling. To represent the Crown means living differently. We speak with grace. We carry ourselves with humility. We walk in authority—but not pride. We don’t live by the culture we live by the Kingdom.
What It Means to Be a Priest Not only are we royalty but also priests. Jesus is our High Priest—the only Mediator between God and man. But as His followers, we’ve also been given a priestly role. We carry the message of reconciliation. We are witnesses of grace, prayer intercessors, and peace messengers.
We don’t save anyone but point to the One who does. We don’t stand in place of Jesus, but we represent Him. When we share the gospel, love sacrificially, and intercede on behalf of others, we are stepping into our priestly role.
What This Is Teaching Us Today In a world where everyone is trying to build their own platform, Zechariah reminds us: It’s not about our kingdom. It’s about His. We are the temple He is building, the royal priesthood He is equipping, and the ambassadors He is sending out. And with that comes a holy responsibility.
There are things we cannot say. Places we cannot go. Ways we cannot live—because we represent someone far greater than ourselves. You don’t just wear the crown—you carry the name of the One who gave it.
Final Word You are redeemed. You are set apart. You are royalty. And you are a priest. But above all, you represent the Crown.
So today, live like someone who has been chosen, crowned, and commissioned by the King of Kings because you are.
